School Construction/Gathering Post
Nov. 26th, 2006 12:37 pmWelcome (at long last) to the planning community for the Island School! Input and ideas always welcome!
If it's ok with the mods and those involved, I'd like to say that the has been ongoing during the month of November; I don't think it's necessary to actually play that out. AFAIK the following people are involved in building the school (based on who signed up on the notice Remus posted on the bulletin board about a month back):
Chris Cutter (Joy, do you want to say he was in charge of this? It seems the most logical)
Sirius Black
Stuart Redman
Duo Maxwell
Would anyone else have been involved? I'm thinking probably most of the people who have been on the crew building the huts, but I don't want to assume.
I'm thinking the school would be one large building divided into two or three rooms, and located somewhere very close to the compound (maybe to the west of it, and south of the Baudelaire treehouse, for mapping purposes?). I would imagine if they've been working on it for 2-3 weeks or so now that it would be done by next week, if not already.
Would anyone be interested in a party/gathering post to celebrate the newly built school? I could set it up next weekend if there are enough interested, along with an announcement on the bulletin board a few days previous. Let me know!

Date: 2006-12-08 03:16 am (UTC)And now that the school is complete, it probably doesn't make much of a difference, but yes, it's totally fine to say that Chris was in charge of it. And, also a party/gathering post would be cool, maybe when the snow is gone? The pups won't know when that's going to happen, but after Christmas dies down, they'll have time anyway. I'd also be willing to help with that or organize with you if you'd like.

Date: 2006-12-08 11:56 pm (UTC)So I'm cool with handwaving the construction, but I'd love a thread with at least Remus, Chris, Sirius, Duo, and Stu doing a final walk through, maybe?
Or we could say the outside got done before the snow and the guys are working on the inside making tables or some such? I know Stu is so happy there is pine to work with it's obscene.

Date: 2006-12-09 12:19 am (UTC)I know Chris right now is really reluctant to do any work because he's being selfish with the ice. He doesn't know how long it'll last and is convinced it'll all disappear in a flash. He could probably be talked into giving up some of his time, though, to make tables and chairs and stuff as long as Stu or someone shows him what to do.
